Evry serves 8,000 customers from leading global corporations, highly specialized niche businesses, and government organizations. In 2016, we embarked on a long-term partnership to change their market position through the introduction of new customer-focused capabilities.

The Strategic Design Lab began its mission fully staffed by Method members, and gradually transitioned to EVRY by incorporating newly recruited talent in Scandinavia, transferring full ownership and operational duties in year four. Method guided EVRY’s transformation into a Scandinavian innovation leader, increasing its enterprise value up to IPO and beyond. Customer satisfaction reached a record high. Our partnership resulted in a positive impact on long term contracts won and new value created for EVRY’s customers.

Using design to shape business strategy

OBJECTIVES

Successful transformations require both a clear vision and a pragmatic plan to deeply and widely evolve the mindset, capability and operational culture of an organization. Starting with “the why” we mapped our joint vision of success into a set of tangible metrics and objectives for the partnership:


  • Reposition the corporation, unlocking new levels of enterprise multiplier value pre-IPO

  • Change market perception from IT-vendor to digital leader, making it one of the “most attractive places to work,” supporting the HR and talent acquisition team, positively driving NPS, employee engagement, and retention

APPROACH

Our approach to transformation has always been to take on a hands-on role and enable change by teaching new skills in real-world contexts. As such, the Strategic Design Lab has proven to be the best route to a successful transformation that sticks, helping to manage a complex portfolio of opportunities for stakeholders that need to decide what to do and when more objectively, quickly and with greater impact. The highly empowered, self prioritizing and multi-disciplinary team adapted to emergent events and worked to a common set of outcomes and performance indicators.

OUTCOMES

Putting theory and practice to test, we worked with some of EVRY’s key clients and delivered the new offerings of the Strategic Design Lab through a set of high profile assignments:


  • A National Central Bank asked us to help them conceive the foundational platform of a future e-Currency

  • A Scandinavian capital city needed our help to envision their Smart City strategy and plan from a citizen-centric perspective

  • A Major Healthcare provider invited us to help them understand how a technology-enabled business model would shift their relationship with the government
