Expanding Our Healthcare Practice: Introducing Dr. Scott Pope
Meet Dr. Scott Pope, Method’s new Global Lead – Healthcare & Life Sciences. Scott brings over 20 years of deep experience in healthcare and is excited to grow this industry practice at Method.
“Healthcare and life sciences have long been core competencies for Method,” says Executive Director of Client Engagement Michael Lum. “We’re very excited to have Scott join us to amplify our expertise in these spaces. With the rise of consumerism in healthcare, the timing is ideal to infuse Scott’s experience, reputation, and energy into our Healthcare and Life Sciences vertical.”
Dr. Pope has been a long-time friend of the Method team and a prominent figure in Charlotte’s healthcare community for decades. His career trajectory spans from the emergency room to the board room and many places in between, giving him a unique perspective on solving patient and business challenges.
Dr. Pope began his career as a hospital pharmacist before deciding to pursue the business side of healthcare. Joining Premier’s healthcare improvement company, he held several greenfield roles and served as an “intrapreneur” launching new business lines under the safety net of a well-established business. During his decade with Premier, Dr. Pope partnered with some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, and health systems in the country to innovate in alternate payment models, care cost and quality initiatives, and more.
Feeling the drive to disrupt healthcare even more, Scott turned to his entrepreneurial roots. He was an outsourced executive and CEO for early-stage companies, managing everything from market strategy to implementation. Although his work led to many measurable wins, such as helping one client adapt quickly during the pandemic to grow revenue by 10X, he missed being part of a larger team he could learn from and mentor. That’s when a meeting with Method paved the way for his next endeavor.
Now that Scott has joined Method, he’s looking forward to harnessing the team’s talent and diving into healthcare and life sciences. “We’re at the beginning of a consumerism renaissance in healthcare. Simply put, healthcare hasn’t been designed for consumers to make educated decisions. The timing couldn’t be better for Method to help solve these complex problems,” Scott says. “Method has a deep bench of expertise and numerous success stories to share in this space. I’m excited to amplify what they’re already doing and release their gifts into the healthcare and life sciences world.”
